Bubba's 10-miler at Big South Fork

The 10-mile trek begins at the trailhead in Big South Fork.

After Slave Falls, the next stop is Needle Arch.

Mom gives Bubba a "You be careful" pat and hug.

We had to cross the big arch before we could get below to see...

how massive the Twin Arches really are!

 A quick stop-over at Bubba's place.

Collins River in Savage Gulf

Savage Gulf Wildnerness Area lives up to its reputation. It is wickedly savage! Climb down into the canyon via rock scrambling trails over boulders, along steep precipices, and under over-hanging ledges. Worth the effort? You bet!

Suter's Falls tumbles over the escarpment into a rocky plunge pool. On this windy day in early May, no one wanted to take the plunge!

 Delicate treasures awaited the patient.

Only 2 miles from Suter's Falls lies another gem well worth the strenuous effort to reach it: Horsepound Falls, today roaring with water from all the heavy rainfall.

Metal building scaffolding provided an ingenious bridge.

This tiny Prairie Trillium, found only on the Cumberland Plateau and west, grew in abundance along with bronze Sweet Betsy Trillium.

 Amazing!

Resurrection Day Activities with Grandkids

Grandmama, do you think 5 dozen eggs will be enough?

Okay, guys, here are the egg hunt rules!

Ohhh, look, a blue one hiding in the middle of the yard!

Is that a gold finch or egg on that branch?

Hey! I spotted one over in the neighbor's yard!

Here, let Otter share with you!

Wow! Look how many I found! Can I keep them?

Can I hold that big blue one? Is it the prize egg?
