An Unusual Easter Day
Our family is accustomed to gathering after church on Sundays to enjoy mealtime, fellowship and fun. However, due to the Coronavirus "stay-at-home" "shelter in place" mandate from Governor Bill Lee, we were saddened to think that we would have to forego our tradition. Easter Sunday is a special time to celebrate our Lord's resurrection at church and with family. Our churches have been holding services online and our family had "met" on Zoom to chat. The Grands were especially saddened to think that we would not be able to attend church and host our family during this special season. So, Granddad came up with a brilliant idea to have the individual families drop by the house at separate times. We weren't sure how the arrangement might work for 2 big reasons: observing "social distancing" and cold, wet and windy weather.
Matthew's family arrived first. Grandmama had prepared dessert to serve: warm brownies, ice cream, homemade bread with spreads. We even managed to have an Easter egg hunt in the carport.
The family was dressed in Easter finery!
Jonathan's family came just as Matthew's family was leaving. The drizzle let up long enough for us to take a family photo. No scavenger egg hunt this year! Happy Happy smiles!
Emily's crew came right after Jonathan's family departed. Just look at the smiles!
The Grands are very blessed!! God is good!
